house of Eli, killed them all in a day, appeared to Samuel in his youth, and
anointed him as a prophet of all Israel to replace an wicked prophet “for the
iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he
restrained them not” 1 Samuel 3:13 “And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the
ground.” 1

You are growing into a
wonderful young man, and it’s a pleasure to be your parents. Thank you for your
happy and cheerful disposition, jolly smile, enduring patience (most of the
time), and an amazing sense of humor. We can’t help but laugh at and enjoy your
jokes. You have a special way to ease stress and make situations brighter. Your
optimistic and confident attitude mixed with good fun makes life better for
everyone. Thanks for the being YOU.
As birthdays pass by and
time marches on, you work and act more like a man than a boy. Now, chores are
more easily done around the house. You seem to have more common sense,
understanding, and dependability. I guess it comes with age, but you seem to be
getting it while in your youth. You are like a partner now, not an apprentice.
You work hard, focus, and accomplish much. Thank you for all the good you do.
Since you milk cows and work
on a farm these days, you may appreciate a few wise words of wisdom from an old
farmer who knows what he’s talking about from experience. Let us know if you

Keep
skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance.
Life
is simpler when you plow around the stump.
A
bumblebee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
Words
that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled.
Meanness
don't jest happen overnight.
Forgive
your enemies. It messes up their heads.
Do
not corner something that you know is meaner than you.
It
don't take a very big person to carry a grudge.
You
cannot unsay a cruel word.
Every
path has a few puddles.
When
you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
The
best sermons are lived, not preached.
Most
of the stuff people worry about ain't never gonna happen anyway.
Don't
judge folks by their relatives.
Remember
that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Live
a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it
a second time.
Timing
has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
The
easiest way to eat crow is while it's still warm, 'cause the colder it gets,
the harder it is to swaller.
If
you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.
It
don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.
Sometimes
you get, and sometimes you get got.
The
biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you shave
his face in the mirror every mornin'.
Always
drink upstream from the herd.
Good
judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody
