It may be wise to correctly identify a
voice that you hear and to whom it is speaking before replying or
acting?
Taking a step further, after you
accurately identify the voice, the source, the message communicated,
and know that it is directly addressing you, would it be valuable for
you to determine the level of truth the message carries? Would it
matter to you whether it is of full truth or only partial truth
accompanied with error and/or personal views and ideas? Would the
philosophies of men mingled with scripture have the same value to you
as the undiluted and fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
"Behold, I am he who was prepared
from the foundation of the world to redeem my people. Behold, I am
Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. In me shall all mankind
have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my
name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters." (Ether
3:14)
I believe Jesus Christ is prepared, has
the ability and capacity, is authorized by His Father, and given
power before the foundation of the world to save you and me. Is there
a difference between such a being and everyone else who has not
achieved, is not qualified, and does not possess saving power as He
does? Which voice would you want to seek, hear, correctly understand,
believe, and act upon? Who do you want to follow, obey, and literally
embrace? From whom do you desire to receive revelations,
instructions, and covenants? Does it matter to you? Do mortal men, institutions, religions, or organizations suffice for you? Or
does it require Jesus Christ Himself for you to be saved?
Ironically, the voice that matters most
almost always contradicts our deep rooted traditions, beliefs,
religions, and the world and is interpreted by most to be offensive,
restrictive, surely untrue, apostate and very unpopular. Which voice
do you focus upon and trust? To which source do you give strict heed?
